Graphic Classes

Class 1

ADDING GRAPHICS TO YOUR MEMORY-OF ABOUT PAGE

Common Questions / Problems

1. When I add a graphic to my Memory-of page, I see the graphic, then shortly after a box appears with a little red X.

Graphics need to be "hosted" on a website and they must remain there if you wish to add it to your Memory-of page. If you try to copy from an email you receive or from another website, The graphic will only remain as long as it remains on the email or website.

If it is removed from the place where you got the graphic, you will get a box with a red X.  All the graphics on the Angel Families website are being "hosted" for you. You should not get the red X if you use the graphics on this website.

Another thing you can do, is host your own graphics on another website. As long as the graphic remains in "web space" you should not have a problem.

2. Where can I store my images on the web if I do not have a website?

There are several websites that will store images for you. Three of the most popular are:

www.photobucket.com

www.imageshack.us

www.piczo.com

3. How do I get graphics on the web sites?

You will have to create a folder on your computer....you can do this my going to your "My Documents" then to" My Pictures". There should be a tool bar on the side that will give you the option to "create a new folder".  You can name it whatever you like and then close out.

Search for graphics on this website or any other website. When you find one you want, right click and then save it to the folder you have just created. Once it is saved to your computer, you can upload the image to your web host.  Photobucket, imageshack, and piczo all allow you to browse your files and then upload as they direct. All of these sites are user-friendly.
