Brandon Killinsworth
"When people mention Brandon the first thing they say about him is he always had the most beautiful, genuine smile and the most caring soul for a young man. He never spoke negatively about anyone, no matter what the circumstances. He had such a comical sense of humor and you could never be mad at him...he would just make you laugh. He was an outstanding athlete, an honor student, a writer (his goal was to one day work for ESPN as a sports writer) and a role model for everyone, both young and old and yes, he was a mamma's boy and he was proud of it. After every game he participated in, the first person he would come to and hug was me, his mom. We would sometimes sit on the couch and just talk for hours about anything and everything and sometimes he would reach over and just hold my hand during our conversations. He was his Dad's best friend and his sisters' protector. He loved his family, his friends, his beautiful fiance', Shannon and his sweet puppy, SouthPaw but most of all, he loved God. I spoke to several of his fraternity brothers after Brandon's memorial service and the night before he was to come home for Thanksgiving, he sat with his brothers and they spoke about their future and how God was an important part of their lives and they assured me that Brandon was right with God. At the accident site, the SC State Patrol officer found Brandon's bible lying right beside him and he sent it to us and I treasure it, along with his St. Christopher's medal (which I wear everyday) as I know that Brandon was telling us that he was alright and he was in Heaven with God. I love and miss my son more than I can express in words but I know that one day we will be reunited in Heaven and it will be the most glorious moment I can imagine"
